Young Journalist' Academy

Have a passion for journalism or ever wanted to learn more?

The Young Academies group are running a summer program based around journalism and want you to be there!

They've confirmed masterclasses from SKY News on TV presenting, a visit to The Economist headquarters with training given by the Head of Podcasts, and film training courtesy of WORLDbytes.

Attendees will also be given the chance to make pitches to the BBC Young Reporters team, if they are successful in the competition, students will have the chance to create their own stories and work closely alongside producers and reporters. We also have opinion writing, storytelling and other masterclasses available for those looking to solidify their literacy skills.

This is a highly competitive programme and the best students will be able to win work experience alongside professionals in the industry. The school is about challenging and strengthening students with the rigours of the working world. At most, pupils will walk away with industry contacts, work experience and a clearer understanding of the journalism industry. At the very least, the training, workshops and masterclasses provided will give insight into what it takes to work at major corporations.

There's just under two weeks left for students to enter so it's recommended that those interested definitely apply before the looming July 10th deadline!
