Looking towards the end of the semester, where do Aberdeen’s major sports teams currently stand?
Aberdeen Men’s Tennis 1s sit fourth of six in the Men’s Scottish Tier 2. They play Stirling on the 12th of November, facing Edinburgh in the next round of the competition if they succeed. The 3s sit third in Tier 4 of the Scottish competition, whilst the 2s sit sixth in the same league.
The Aberdeen Women’s 1 Tennis team are set to play Glasgow in the Scottish Conference Cup on the 26th November. They are fourth in the Scottish Tier 2 at the time of writing, with their 2s squad being in sixth place.
In football, the men’s first team will face Edinburgh on the 12th November. They sit fifth in the Scottish Tier 1, with one win, two draws and three losses from their first six games. The 2s will play Glasgow Caledonian’s 1s in the Scottish Conference Cup on 12th November. As of writing their latest result was a 3-3 draw against Dundee.
In the Women’s Scottish Conference Cup, Aberdeen Women’s 1s will play either Stirling or St Andrews on 26th November. They sit second place in the Women’s Scottish Tier 2 with a game in hand. A victory would put them level on points with Glasgow.
In rugby, Aberdeen Men’s 1s are out of the Men’s National Trophy after a defeat to Glasgow at the end of October. However, they sit third in the Men’s Scottish Tier 1 league. The 2s play Abertay on the 26th November, hoping to secure a place in the next round of the competition. The 2s lead the Men’s Scottish Tier 3, being eight points ahead as of 5th November.
Women’s 1s rugby will play St Andrews Women at the start of next semester. They are currently third in the league, with second through fourth being close in terms of points.
Aberdeen Men’s Hockey 1s will play in the Open National Trophy on the 12th November. They will face St Andrews. St Andrews lead Aberdeen by seven points and two places in the league, with Aberdeen currently residing in fourth on six points. The 2s sit in third in the league in a tightly contested table wherein two points separate first and third.
Aberdeen Women’s 1 hockey will play Dundee Women’s 1 on the 12th November. The two teams are separated by seven points at the time of writing, with Dundee sitting in second whilst Aberdeen sit in sixth. Women’s 2s top their league, tied currently with St Andrews for points.
In lacrosse, the Men’s 1s will soon face St Andrews in the National Trophy. The two teams are tied on both points and goal difference in the league.
The Women’s 1s sit atop the Scottish Tier 2 on twelve points. The 2s and 3s are placed sixth and seventh with both teams yet to register any points.
