The George Washington Wilson Centre for Visual Culture brings together researchers of Visual culture from across the whole University. During Dr Taylor and Dr May’s book launch, the Centre has launched VIEW, a new public engagement programme aimed at showcasing and giving visibility to creative enterprises in the north east of Scotland. It will attract internationally recognised creative talents to Aberdeen and the shire, presenting the city as a key player in the international creative scene. Among the events scheduled for the upcoming semester, there are workshops on live-coding and filmmaking for young people, an interactive performance and talk related to women’s suffrage and a screening of contemporary films relating to mental health. For more information follow @VIEWabdn on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter or go the Centre website https://visualcultureaberdeen.wordpress.com.
